Why Linking Instagram to a Facebook Page Matters for VidSyndicate

For creators and small teams managing video publishing, having your Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page is a critical step. This connection allows Meta to recognize these as business assets, which unlocks publishing and management features in tools like VidSyndicate. Without this link, VidSyndicate may not detect your Instagram account properly, limiting your ability to schedule or cross-post content seamlessly.

Step 1: Confirm You Have a Facebook Page

A Facebook Page is distinct from your personal Facebook profile. It represents your business, brand, organization, or creator identity. Before proceeding, ensure you either own or have management permissions for the Facebook Page you intend to link.

If you don’t have one yet, creating a Facebook Page is straightforward via Facebook’s interface. You’ll need this Page to serve as a central hub for your linked Instagram account and for VidSyndicate to access your publishing assets.

Step 2: Switch Your Instagram to a Professional Account

Instagram accounts come in three types: personal, business, or creator. To link with a Facebook Page and use publishing tools effectively, your Instagram must be a professional account — either Business or Creator.

If your Instagram is still personal, you’ll be prompted to convert it during the linking process. Professional accounts offer benefits like public profiles, insights, and business tools that support content strategy and audience engagement.

Step 3: Log In and Switch to Your Facebook Page

On Facebook, log in with your personal credentials, click your profile picture in the top-right corner, select **See all profiles**, and choose the Facebook Page you want to connect. You are now using Facebook as your Page, which is necessary for managing linked accounts.

While using Facebook as your Page, click your Page profile picture, select **Settings & privacy**, then **Settings**. In the sidebar, locate **Permissions** and click **Linked accounts**. This is where you’ll add your Instagram account.

Step 5: Connect Your Instagram Account

Within Linked Accounts, find **Instagram** and click **View**. Click **Connect account**, then follow the prompts to sign into your Instagram account and approve requested permissions. Facebook should then show your Instagram as connected under your Page.

Step 6: Verify the Correct Instagram Account is Linked

If you manage multiple Instagram accounts or Facebook Pages, double-check the connected Instagram username matches your intended account for VidSyndicate use. This prevents publishing errors and confusion.

Step 7: Connect to VidSyndicate

Return to VidSyndicate, connect your Meta/Facebook account, and authorize the requested permissions. VidSyndicate will then detect your Facebook Pages and linked Instagram professional accounts for publishing.

Troubleshooting: Instagram Not Showing in VidSyndicate?

If your Instagram doesn’t appear, check that it is a professional account (Business or Creator), connected to the correct Facebook Page, you have management access to that Page, you logged into VidSyndicate with the correct Facebook account, and you approved all required Meta permissions.

If you recently changed connections, disconnect and reconnect Meta in VidSyndicate to refresh available accounts.
