Privacy Policy

VidSyndicate is operated by VidShare. VidShare ("we," "us," or "our") provides social media publishing, video distribution, and livestream management services under the VidSyndicate brand (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies to the VidSyndicate website, Android application, and iOS application and explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect account and contact information you provide, including your name, email address, authentication information, workspace information, subscription or plan status, support messages, and information submitted through forms. Payment transactions are handled through our payment provider; VidSyndicate may receive and retain transaction identifiers, subscription status, and limited billing details needed to administer the account, but does not receive complete payment-card numbers through the Service.

When you use publishing features, we process content you select or create, which may include videos, photos, thumbnails, audio, captions, titles, descriptions, hashtags, links, scheduling information, platform settings, and related metadata. We also process publishing status, identifiers, URLs, and analytics or engagement information returned by connected platforms.

We collect technical and operational information applicable to the way you access the Service, such as IP address, device and operating-system information, browser or app information, request and authentication events, feature usage, upload progress and status, error details, diagnostics, and security logs. We use this information to operate, troubleshoot, secure, and understand use of the Service. The mobile application also retrieves account, channel, calendar, publishing, and stored platform-analytics information from VidSyndicate when you use those features.

Mobile Media Selection and On-Device Processing

The Android and iOS applications allow you to select videos and related media from your device. The app accesses only the media you choose through the device's media picker. When you select multiple videos, the app combines them on your device. Video editing, audio extraction, automatic caption transcription, caption review, and rendering performed by the current mobile upload workflow also occur on your device. The app may download and store an offline speech-recognition model to provide on-device captions.

These operations create temporary or cached media, audio, thumbnail, caption-model, and edited-video files on the device. The selected or processed video is uploaded to VidSyndicate-controlled storage when you direct the app to upload it. Selecting, combining, previewing, or editing a video does not by itself publish it to a social platform. Device operating systems may manage or remove temporary and cached files according to their own storage behavior.

AI-Assisted Features

VidSyndicate offers optional AI-assisted features. For video metadata assistance, the title, description, and selected destination-platform names you submit are sent through VidSyndicate servers to OpenAI to generate suggested titles, descriptions, captions, and hashtags. VidSyndicate also has server-based transcription features that send audio submitted for that feature to OpenAI for transcription. Other AI-assisted Service features may submit the text, audio, images, or instructions you choose to use with those features to OpenAI for processing.

The current Android and iOS automatic-caption workflow described above performs transcription on the device rather than sending the video's audio to OpenAI. AI-generated and automatically transcribed output may be inaccurate; users can review and edit applicable output before publishing. Third-party AI providers process submitted information under their applicable terms and privacy practices.

Google and YouTube User Data We Access

VidSyndicate uses Google OAuth 2.0, the YouTube Data API, and YouTube Live Streaming API to provide YouTube publishing and livestream management features.

When a user connects a YouTube account, VidSyndicate accesses Google user data associated with the user’s YouTube account that is authorized by the user through Google OAuth.

The Google/YouTube user data accessed by VidSyndicate includes:

• YouTube channel ID and channel information needed to identify and manage the connected YouTube channel.
• YouTube videos associated with the connected channel, including video IDs, titles, descriptions, privacy settings, publishing status, and other video metadata.
• Videos uploaded or managed by the user through VidSyndicate.
• YouTube Live broadcasts associated with the connected channel, including broadcast IDs, titles, descriptions, scheduled start times, privacy settings, broadcast status, latency configuration, and livestream configuration.
• YouTube Live stream information required to create, configure, start, monitor, and end livestreams.
• YouTube live chat messages and related chat information when the user uses VidSyndicate’s livestream management features.
• YouTube comments, ratings, likes, viewer counts, concurrent viewer counts, and other engagement information made available through the YouTube APIs and used by VidSyndicate features.
• Google OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens required to maintain the user-authorized YouTube connection.

OAuth Scopes Used by VidSyndicate

VidSyndicate requests the following Google OAuth scopes:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload

Allows VidSyndicate to upload and manage videos on the user’s YouTube channel.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl

Allows VidSyndicate to access and manage YouTube videos, ratings, comments, captions, and YouTube Live functionality on behalf of the authenticated user.

VidSyndicate uses this Google user data only to provide functionality requested by the user, including uploading and publishing videos, scheduling videos, creating and managing YouTube Live broadcasts, displaying livestream status, displaying live chat and comments, showing viewer and engagement information, and managing YouTube content from within VidSyndicate.

We request only the Google and YouTube permissions necessary to provide the features you enable and do not request access to Google user data that is unrelated to the functionality of the Service.

VidShare / VidSyndicate does not sell Google user data and does not use Google user data for advertising. Google user data is shared with service providers only when necessary to host, secure, maintain, or provide the requested functionality of the Service, or when disclosure is legally required. Service providers may process such data only as necessary to provide services to VidShare / VidSyndicate and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising purposes. OAuth credentials and tokens are stored securely and are not exposed publicly.

You may disconnect your Google or YouTube account at any time through VidShare / VidSyndicate. You may also revoke access through your Google Account security settings or through Google's third-party app access controls. Disconnecting an account stops future API access by VidShare / VidSyndicate. You may request deletion of your VidSyndicate account through our public account-deletion request form at https://vidsyndicate.com/account-deletion. Requests are verified and processed manually. You may also request deletion of stored Google-related data by contacting hello@vidsyndicate.com.

When you disconnect the Google/YouTube integration or delete your VidSyndicate account, associated Google OAuth credentials, tokens, and connected-account data are deleted or invalidated, unless retention is required for legitimate legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

VidShare, also operating as VidSyndicate, complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy. VidShare’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Facebook and Instagram Data

Our Service may use Facebook/Instagram permissions to publish content you authorize. We request only the permissions required to provide authorized publishing features and store access tokens securely. We do not use Facebook or Instagram data for advertising or to build user profiles.

You can revoke access at any time through your Facebook account settings. We do not share Facebook/Instagram data with third parties except as required to operate the Service or comply with law.

TikTok Data

Our Service may use TikTok permissions to publish content you authorize. We request only the permissions required to provide authorized publishing features and store access tokens securely. We do not use TikTok data for advertising or to build user profiles.

You can revoke access at any time through your TikTok account settings. We do not share TikTok data with third parties except as required to operate the Service or comply with law.

Pinterest Data

Our Service may use Pinterest permissions to publish content you authorize. We request only the permissions required to provide authorized publishing features and store access tokens securely. We do not use Pinterest data for advertising or to build user profiles.

You can revoke access at any time through your Pinterest account settings. We do not share Pinterest data with third parties except as required to operate the Service or comply with law.

Other Connected Publishing Platforms

Depending on the features available to your account, VidSyndicate supports connections and publishing workflows for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Mastodon, and Bluesky. The Service also includes certain livestreaming, analytics, import, and distribution features where shown in the product. Platform availability and capabilities may vary by account, platform authorization, and platform API rules.

Connected Accounts, Credentials, and Authorized Sharing

When you connect a third-party account, we receive and store information needed to identify and use that connection, such as account or channel identifiers, display names, handles, granted scopes, access tokens, refresh tokens, token-expiration information, and platform metadata. Bluesky may use credentials or an app password rather than OAuth. We use these credentials only to perform actions you authorize and to maintain the connected-account features you request.

When you choose to publish, schedule, import, synchronize, or retrieve analytics, VidSyndicate shares the content, metadata, settings, and credentials necessary for that request with the selected social platform and receives the resulting status, identifiers, URLs, analytics, or error information. Each platform processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect a platform through available VidSyndicate controls or revoke access through that platform's account settings.

How We Use Information

We use collected information, including Google and YouTube user data, only to provide requested features, operate and improve the Service, maintain security, process requests, and communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information or use Google user data for advertising purposes.

Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. OAuth tokens are retained only while necessary to maintain authorized connections and provide requested features, including publishing and livestream management. Tokens are deleted or invalidated when the connected integration is disconnected, the user revokes access, or the associated account is deleted, subject to legitimate legal, security, or fraud-prevention retention requirements.

Account information, uploaded or generated content, publishing records, analytics, support records, and operational logs may be retained while your account is active and afterward when reasonably necessary to complete deletion, protect the Service, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain required records, or comply with law. Payment processors and VidSyndicate may retain transaction, subscription, tax, accounting, chargeback, and fraud-prevention records when required for legitimate business or legal purposes. We do not state a single retention period because the appropriate period depends on the data and the reason it is retained.

Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your VidSyndicate account through our public account-deletion request form. Enter the email address associated with the account. To protect account data, our team contacts the account email address to verify the request, and verified account deletion is processed manually. The request form does not immediately or automatically delete an account.

After verification, we remove account-associated data that VidSyndicate controls as described on the request page, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and payment-record exceptions. Deleting a VidSyndicate account does not necessarily delete information already published to a connected platform; you may need to manage that content with the applicable platform. Shared Central Auth and CoverStudio AI identities are not automatically deleted by a VidSyndicate deletion request; the VidSyndicate connection is removed. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

Your Choices

You may opt out of receiving emails from us at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails. You may also revoke connected platform access (including Google/YouTube, Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Mastodon, and Bluesky) through your account settings on each platform.
